Interesting blog, Dale. I visited Maneosa in 2003 or 2004, and I'm quite sure the Amida Buddha statue was not there at that time (unless I somehow missed it). It was a difficult temple to get to - I only made it on the third attempt by bicycle due to the steepness of the access road. Worth it, though!
You're right, the temple isn't the easiest temple to get to. However, it's definitely well worth the effort. That's interesting to know that the Amita-bul statue wasn't there back in 2003 or 4. It's definitely newer looking, and masterfully executed. Hope you continue to enjoy the blog!
